Malaysia used to take the dominant share of our entire import, being a rich source of both logs and sawn timbers. However, exports of logs from the country have reduced in the recent years because of a dearth in the desired species. But sawn timber has increased in good amount to fulfill the logs shortage.

Many countries in the continent are noteworthy contributors to our timber requirement. We source hardwood from a wide assortment of African countries such as, Ivory Coast, Benin, Gabon, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania. The African Timber Organisation (ATO) plays an important role in streamlining the process.

The largest exporter of tropical woods, Papua New Guinea is a country where rainforest covers over 60% land area. One of their most important species is Kwila, which we import to produce timber products.

Forestry is Solomon Island's largest export industry, accounting for around 20% of its government revenues. This country meets a sizeable percentage of our round log requirement.

Over the past two years, Suriname has taken over the position once held by Malaysia. The country boasts of a large forest resource base (about 80% of the land) with a sizeable growing stock of valuable hardwood timber.

Yet another of our major source of log and timber is Indonesia. We primarily source kapur and Bankirai from this country. The logs are high in quality and contribute towards the overall viability of our products.
